Jerry Seinfield pointed this out on Commedians in cars getting coffee. The snake is a eating a baby, according to Jerry.
Looks to us like a christian version of Yin and Yang. You got the knights templar style cross representing goodness, restraint, jesus. But then, ooh….. no-o ; ) .
